🕷 🕷️ Hogna radiata (Radiated Wolf Spider) Care Guide
Hatched Dec 25
Hogna radiata is a large, ground-dwelling wolf spider native to southern Europe, North Africa, and parts of the Middle East. It’s fast, visually oriented, and best kept as a display / observation spider rather than a handling pet.
Enclosure
Terrestrial setup, secure lid
Substrate: sand/soil mix, 5–8 cm depth
Add rocks, bark, and hides for cover
Climate
Temp: 20–26 °C (room temp works well)
Humidity: 50–70% (light misting, never waterlogged)
Provide a shallow water dish or droplets
Feeding
Diet: small locusts, crickets, roaches, mealworms, or similar live insects
Feed every 3–5 days (spiderlings more often)
Remove uneaten prey after 24 hrs
Notes
No web for hunting — they stalk and ambush prey
Easy to keep if enclosure is secure
