Common name: Plexippus tsholotsho (a small African jumping spider)
- Temperature: 22 to 28°C (room temperature is usually fine). Avoid prolonged temperatures below 18°C.
- Humidity: Around 50 to 70%. Lightly mist one side of the enclosure 1 to 2 times per week, allowing it to dry out between mistings.
- Enclosure: Arboreal setup with good ventilation. Small acrylic or plastic enclosures work well, with twigs, bark, or foliage for climbing and retreating.
- Food: Appropriately sized live prey such as fruit flies (Drosophila spp.) for slings and small greenbottle flies, bean weevils, or tiny crickets for larger individuals. Feed 2 to 3 times weekly.
- Water: They will drink from fine water droplets after misting.
- Behaviour: Active, curious, and visual hunters. They create silk retreats for resting and moulting. Avoid disturbing them during a moult.
Notes: This species appreciates a gentle wet-dry cycle rather than constantly damp conditions. Good airflow is more important than high humidity.
